Advancing Coral Seeding Technology in the Caribbean
In partnership with FUNDEMAR and SECORE International, this 3-year project (2023-2026) refines coral seeding methods to scale up restoration efforts across the Caribbean. Supported by CORDAP, it focuses on innovation, collaboration, and knowledge-sharing to enhance regional reef recovery.
Building Reef Resilience & Community
This 5-year initiative (2023-2027), funded by Dutch and Bonaire governments, enhances coral diversity and abundance in Bonaire National Marine Park. It aligns with NEPP targets through tangible restoration goals while fostering collaboration and a strong restoration community.

Restoring Branching Corals in Lac Bay
RRFB is restoring key populations of 2 branching coral species in Lac Bay, staghorn (Acropora cervicornis) and elkhorn coral (Acropora palmata). With support from WWF, we’ve installed a horizontal rope nursery near Sorobon and are actively monitoring Lac’s shallow reef for resilient colonies to propagate.
Adapting to Bleaching and Disease
RRFB addresses threats like Stony Coral Tissue Loss Disease and mass bleaching through innovative restoration methods, including selective propagation and coral breeding. By fostering resilient coral strains and safeguarding genetic diversity, we aim to strengthen Bonaire’s reefs in the face of mounting challenges.
